LeakFree, a service that reduces water consumption by 20% in cities, wins the Belgium everis 2020
The everis office in Brussels has awarded Shayp the title of winner of the Belgium everis Award 2020 for his Leakfree project, which has the potential to save 100 litres of drinking water by 2023.
After realising that the plumbing of the historical monument of Brussels, the Manneken Pis, was broken, causing it to leak 2.5 tonnes of water per day, Shayp knew they needed to find a solution. Using the existing water meters, Shayp collects real-time water consumption data with a single non-invasive sensor and uses machine learning to instantly assess the costs and risks of leaks in buildings.
The award consists of 10,000 euros non-refundable, mentoring by i-deals (everis Group) and a pass to the international everis Award competition where he will compete for an additional 60,000 euros.
