The AGROS project wins the everis Award Peru - UTEC 2019

Agros promotes the financial inclusion of small farmers and helps them improve agricultural production through remote and free consulting.
The everis Award, present in 10 countries of Europe and America and with more than 18 years of history, has presented its 4th edition in Peru, thanks to everis Foundation and the University of Engineering and Technology (UTEC), with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship, talent and innovation in Peru.
The everis Award, in which more than 2000 projects took part over the years, seeks projects based on innovation on the technological, management, social or environmental fields. This edition had three categories: New Business Models in the Digital Economy, Industrial Technologies, and Biotechnology and Health.
The winner of this edition was Agros, an initiative that promotes financial inclusion of small farmers thanks to the improvement of agricultural production through remote and free consulting. The award consists of a financial allocation of US$ 10,000, as well as a mentoring program provided by i‑deals (a company within the everis Group specializing in technological entrepreneurship). In addition, Agros has the chance of a direct pass to the final phase of the everis Global Awards, which will be held in November in Spain.
‘The projects presented this year are of great quality and they are the result of much effort. They were inspired by the need of solving some particular social issue, promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in Peru’, noted Javier Hoyle, general manager of everis Peru.
Winning project
Agros, with its platform, facilitates digital and financial inclusion of small farmers thanks to remote consulting services where they can get recommendations and reminders of activities that will enable them to improve agricultural production. In addition, Agros Data Market is an agricultural information bureau that helps reduce uncertainty about field conditions by collecting information for microfinance institutions as part of the requirements for providing credit to farmers.
everis Global Award
The winning project also gets a pass to the international final of the everis Global Award, consisting of an award of 60,000 € and consulting services to contribute to the development of the project.
This year, for the first time, the everis Award will be given during the everis-talent-week, a series of conferences, seminars and events with investors for the promotion of entrepreneurship, dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship, among others.
Besides, everis Foundation offers the finalist projects the possibility to participate, if they wish, in the Open Innovation Contest, an initiative of NTT DATA, the Japanese branch to which everis belongs
